Art-Edu Working Group
Art-Edu is an international art educational cooperation under the Cumulus Association. Participants from European art teacher education institutions are collected around different themes annually. The key element of this collaboration is on international intensive projects.
Participant universities:
Willem de Kooning Academy Rotterdam, the Netherlands
Utrecht School of the Art (HKU), the Netherlands
University of Art and Design Helsinki TAIK, Finland
Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK), Switzerland
University of Applied Arts Wien, Austria
The aim is to redevelop practices and to create the concepts for international course and module production on art and design teacher education. Modules/courses are the foundation for developing MA degree curricula. The core innovation is based on European wide creative use of virtual learning environments (VLE) and ICT tools in education connected to contact project weeks annually.
Activities: The first Art-Edu intensive project was carried out during the spring term 2005 in Utrecht, the next one during spring 2006 in Helsinki and the third one in Rotterdam spring 2007. The fourth project of two parts, by using VLE and ICT tools and including a contact project week in Zürich, is carried out 2008-2009.
