Deadline for the submission(s) 8 October 2018

Dear Cumulus Member,

we are pleased to announce that we are launching the survey for the publication of ReVeDA, Cumulus Working Group on Research Vectors in Art, Design and Media. For those who are not aware of it, the project was born with the intent to develop a map of research on Design and the Art and Media by the Cumulus family. The topic of the publication is the Research in Design, Art and Media, in all its declinations: The fields of interest, the actors, the financing, the tools, the methodologies, the problems and the opportunities.

Starting from the activities of the ReVeDa Cumulus Working Group sessions during the Cumulus Conferences during the last three years, the aim of publication on Design Research is to give a picture of the state of the art in research in Design and Art and Media, taken in its interdisciplinary connections and applications. The ReVeDA Cumulus Think Tank publication is an open space of debate about the research experiences within the Cumulus members and partners, out of any fixed taxonomy and methodological dogma.

While developing an open and dynamic map of the research in art, design and media, this Cumulus Think Tank publication focuses on sharing different research experiences in order to display:
– The best practices;
– The approaches and methods;
– The international partners and the design research societies and networks.

The publication is released with an ISBN number provided by Cumulus, and it is organized in two (2) parts:
– the first one shows the results of the survey on research developed by the Cumulus family.*
– The second part of the book will be a collection of papers, reflections, interviews about the topic of Design, Art and Media Research.**

Now as a first step for the publication, we would like to invite you to take part in the survey, that is open to all researchers in the field of Design and the Arts: professors, Ph.D. doctors, post-doctors, who are members of the Cumulus association.

Each member university of Cumulus can present at most ten (10) research projects (please, note, one questionnaire/reply describes only one research project).

The aim of the questionnaire, as we told before, is to develop a map of findings how research on design and art, design, and media research throughout the whole membership of Cumulus is constituted, how it exists, what is its impact etc.

If you liked to take part in the outcomes of this publication, we are pleased to invite you to answer the questionnaire describing your research. We shall publish the names of the Cumulus member universities that will contribute to the success of the survey in the publication. By participating in the survey, the participant automatically agree to the use of the data for the scientific purposes and to be published only in this ReVeDA Cumulus Think Tank publication.
