Pearl Academy, the premium design education institute in India and a member of Laureate International Universities is hosting a world café style international confluence “What’s Next: Impact of Design” to be held on 23 February 2017 in New Delhi, India.
Design is transforming the business, re-shaping management thinking, and fostering social innovation by questioning the ‘Why’ of a problem. Would Design have the capability to lead the change as it can conflate across all disciplines? Can design positively impact the world of tomorrow and its problems?” Would the role of the designer be that of a connectivist, who establishes and fosters links between different disciplines? The confluence will address these questions under following themes:
• Impact on society
• Impact on industry
• Designing education
• Design for nation building
As a part of this confluence, we have also rolled out the ‘CALL FOR IDEAS’ for design professionals, academicians and students. These competitions are:
– for students: ideas on “Impact of Design on Society and Culture”
– for Professionals/ academicians: design pitch on “Design for Nation Building”
Take part in the International Design Competition sponsored by PORADA ARREDI Srl and POLI.design, Consorzio del Politecnico di Milano, under the patronage of ADI, the Association for Industrial Design.
