The Australian Academy of Design is Australia's leading independent educator of art and design practitioners. AAD is a government registered, degree-awarding higher education institution situated in Melbourne, the cultural capital of Australia. It offers the unique Bachelor of Design Arts degree with major study programs in Advertising, Fashion Design, Graphic Design, Photo Media and Visual Arts. It has Masters degree programs in development.

AAD seeks a leader in design arts as the Academy enters a dynamic phase of development in the next triennium. As part of the senior management team, the Deputy Director will be responsible for the management of the undergraduate programs and will lead implementation plans for future learning and teaching, promote interdisciplinary co-operation and where appropriate oversee the development of new major study programs.

A Doctoral qualification is desirable with at least five years post qualifying experience.

Candidates will need to demonstrate an impressive record of strategic achievement in practice / management / education settings, together with the skills, knowledge and experience to lead and manage academic programs in a period of development over the next triennium.

The appointment is for three years.

 

Salary scale: AUD$ Negotiable
