ENVIRONMENTAL ART

ENVIRONMENT MEANS RESPONSIBILITY

ART STANDS FOR FREEDOM

The MA Program in Environmental Art at Aalto University

• is lasting 2 years, accepts a maximum of 10 new students each year.

• is international and consists of theoretical and practical studies as well as students’ own artistic activities.

• challenges students to develop advanced artistic and conceptual skills for a wide range of spatial practices.

• prepares students to pursue their work in a variety of professional fields, whether as independent artists or as collaborators in projects involving installations, landscape design, urban planning or community development.

• provides the opportunity for students to apply for further studies at the doctoral level.

 

Studies in the Environmental Art include

intensive workshops, seminar series, expert lectures and field trips to various environments. Students are

free to choose the materials and tools they wish to use. Urban interventions and collective actions in the society are part of the study. An essential aspect of studying environmental art is formulating visions for the future and assuming responsibility for sustainable development.

The teaching language is English.
