Building a global design bridge to seek new opportunities in Design and Communication
Find out what is happening in the global design community through four windows or gates in order to facilitate the face-to-face interaction among education, promotion, professional and corporate stakeholders.
This intercultural experience will be a great opportunity for emerging economies to learn about the differences and similarities amongst them.
The organizing committee of the Projecting Design 2012 proposals for papers in the following topics:
• Innovation issues: challenges and opportunities.
Innovation positions itself as an idea of strength in every process of creation of significant value and as a mechanism to promote change and evolution in the way society and markets adapt themselves to a changing environment. Design and communications are key players in the process of articulating innovative responses to the needs of the developing world.
• Sustainability issues, challenges and opportunities.
Sustainability is defined today as the ability to create development sustainable in time and resources. With Design and Communications as active agents of change, it is defined both in the economy and the society, as well as in the environment.
• Professional practice and market issues: challenges and opportunities.
The evolution of professional markets, globalization of services and offshoring technologies amongst many other variables, determine the performance of the professional. Laying the foundations of how our professionals perform at the labour market is within the responsibilities of an educational network like Cumulus.
• Education and overcrowd issues: challenges and opportunities.
The dynamics of higher education within emerging economies conveys significant challenges to balance quality criteria, equality in accessibility, accreditation, etc. The possibility of articulating this north-south experiences, will allow us to undertake great challenges for Latin America.

• The academic committee will be chaired by Prof. Carlos Hinrichsen, Senator ICSID /International Affairs Director – Duoc UC, who will be joined by national, regional and international professionals and academics of the Design and Communication area.
