Aalto University School of Art and Design, Finland celebrates its 140th anniversary exhibition open
Aalto University School of Art and Design celebrated its anniversary on 11 January. This year marks the 140th anniversary of its predecessor, Veistokoulu (Helsinki Craft School).
The OPEN 140 exhibition celebrates the 140 year history of the School of Art and Design
Aalto University School of Art and Design is an integral part of the history and development of Finnish design. A special exhibition has opened at the Design Museum (Korkeavuorenkatu 23, Helsinki, Finland) during which the history, present day and future of the School of Art and Design are all presented.
The exhibition will transport the school back to the city centre for almost two months. Its varied programme includes workshops, discussion panels and lectures.
The exhibition is open from 12 January to 27 February 2011.
