In the memory of 5.12 Wenchuan Earthquake Disaster, Cumulus Association together with Tongji University and Knowledge and Innovation Community jointly organize "Design Inspiring Humanism - 2009 Cumulus International Design Competition for the Earthquake Disaster Relief". Participated by students from top design schools worldwide, the competition aims to offer innovative designs of emergency rescue tools and solutions to the community.
We are happy to present the winners for the Cumulus Competition Design Inspiring Humanism. The award ceremony was held on 26 May 2009 in KIC Plaza Shanghai, China, 108 designs for the earthquake disaster relief selected among over 600 young designers from 56 design schools in 14 countries were exhibited.
Congratulations to the winners! Thank you to all for participation!
Competition works were shown already in London, UK and will be exhibited also in Melbourne, Australia in November 2009.
Final results Golden Selection: prize of 50,000 RMB , certificate and remembrance Chen Yinfeng, Tongji University, China
Silver Selections: prize of 10,000 RMB , certificate and remembrance Ceren Bagatar, Umea Institute of Design, Sweden Teruhito Suzuki, Chiba University, Japan
The final three was also awarded a travel grant from the Cumulus Association to attend the award giving ceremony.
