 "Places to be"

call for entries organised by the European Network of Creative Cities focusing on interactions between human beings and urban design (www.humancities.eu).

Partnership between the Institute Superior of Architecture of the Belgian French Community (ISACF - La Cambre; coordinator of the project), the association Pro Materia in Brussels (B), the Lighthouse - Scotland's Centre for Architecture, Design and the City in Glasgow (UK); the Politecnico of Milan (IT) and the UPIRS-Urban Planning Institute of the Republic of Slovenia, Ljubljana.

We are addressing, in particular, teachers of art and architecture so that you can motivate your students to take part in the call for entries which is aiming to collect photographic works, videos, cartography, design, illustrations or other relevant elements which will enable the public at large to easily comprehend and visualise the concept of Human Cities. The project does not need necessarily to be created specifically for the Human Cities Festival. The work may already have been presented or shown to a professional or general public audience and may have been published previously. However, it must have been created between 2004 and 2010.

The selected projects will be exhibited in the different partner cities and during the first Human Cities Festival which will take place in Brussels in spring 2010. The application forms and the registration procedures can be downloaded on the website.

All candidate files must be in our possession by October 9th 2009 at the following address:

Pro Materia

Creative Space Kreon-Pro Materia

Rue de la Chancellerie 19

B- 1000 Bruxelles
