RESEARCH ACTIVITY AND MAIN RESEARCH AREAS - Staff research and advanced practice across Contemporary Craft [object design and Jewellery], Graphic Design and Animation, Interior Design, Product and Furniture Design, Photography and Media Arts, Visual Arts [Painting and Sculpture ] and Toi Māori – Raranga [Contemporary Māori weaving ] - Four curated public galleries on campus. - The CIRRUS Generator – a design development and incubation centre on campus for graduates to establish and grow design businesses. - The Hothouse – a research and development centre on campus, working directly with over 40 businesses to generate and develop design-based IPR through intensive collaborative practice. |

THE ROLE OF THE MEMBER UNIT IN INTERNATIONAL SECTOR AND ITS COLLABORATION WITH PARTNER UNIVERSITIES AND OTHER INSTITUTIONS Unitec has direct collaborations with more than 80 institutions worldwide including research and development work, collaborative provision, study abroad, and the School of Design’s Artist in Residence work. We are also involved with commercial work and consultancy in many countries across a range of disciplines – including art and design, technology, computing, education, natural sciences and architecture. |
