THE ROLE OF THE MEMBER UNIT IN NATIONAL AND REGIONAL SECTORS AND IN HOME CITY AND ITS COLLABORATION WITH PARTNER UNIVERSITIES, ASSOCIATIONS, INDUSTRIAL AND BUSINESS CONNECTIONS AND OTHER INSTITUTIONS. In order to integrate education with social practice, Shandong University of Art and Design has undertaken different design projects and organized various academic activities in cooperation with other universities and associations. For example, in December 2005, SUAD hosted National Visual Communication Design Forum and the First National Exhibition of Excellent Graphic Design Works by University Students, in June 2006 participated in Shandong International Cultural Industry Fair, designing the Fair logo, digital mascot, and the standard statue of Confucius, and in September 2006 undertook Ji’nan International Contemporary Photo Biennale and the first International University Student Photography Exhibition. Each school has partnership cooperation with different companies as their off-campus base, where students could practice what they have learned. For example, Jinan Jidong Color Printing Company, Jinan Municipal Landscape Planning Research Institute, Shandong TV Station, Shandong Provincial Museum, to name just a few. |
