The scope of Istituto Europeo di Design is in fact, to offer young professionals working in the fields of Fashion, Design and Communication, the most efficacious tools necessary to answer the constantly evolving demands of the production world: a project and communication culture that will accompany them throughout their careers. The bond between knowing and knowing how to do is the unavoidable premise in the development of cultural, creative and critical skills and competencies which represent the key goal of IED education. |

| B. AIMS, PHILOSOPHY AND COLLABORATION | ||||||||
|
SUMMARY OF MISSION STATEMENT "We founded the Istituto Europeo di Design in 1966 under a guiding idea that ever since has inspired didactic methods and educational pathways: the philosophies of "knowing" and "knowing-how to" must grow and mature together. We conceived and built the school of projects: an authentic and modern culture.Over decades of practise, we have dug into knowledge, analysed all processes of doing and verified theories. Now we fully understand what carrying out an idea right up to its concrete realisation means, and today we teach how to do this. Five seats – and the intention of becoming more and more projected towards a consolidated international dimension – giving evidence of our history and the spirit that has led our activities to the present day." IED President Francesco Morelli |
