B. AIMS, PHILOSOPHY AND COLLABORATION
SUMMARY OF MISSION STATEMENT
Design is alongside technology and marketing the third key element of a successful business strategy. In close cooperation with interdisciplinary development teams, industrial designers create products, vehicles, or systems. They carry most of the responsibility for the formal characteristics of a product and are partly responsible for its functional characteristics as well. They work in that border area between industry and commerce, technology, ecology, art, and culture.
THE ROLE OF THE MEMBER UNIT IN INTERNATIONAL SECTOR AND ITS COLLABORATION WITH PARTNER UNIVERSITIES AND OTHER INSTITUTIONS
12 international partner universities, hence vivid student exchange plus constant cooperation with multinationals such as AUDI, BMW, SIEMENS, SUYIN, etc.
THE ROLE OF THE MEMBER UNIT IN NATIONAL AND REGIONAL SECTORS AND IN HOME CITY AND ITS COLLABORATION WITH PARTNER UNIVERSITIES, ASSOCIATIONS, INDUSTRIAL AND BUSINESS CONNECTIONS AND OTHER INSTITUTIONS.
The Industrial Design program is the first Austrian Design department to have been rated an outstanding educational institution’ by the Bureau of European Designers’ Association (BEDA), which is associated with Design Austria, a member of ICSID and the Austrian Design Foundation.

We strive to permanently involve national enterprises and participate in national competitions. National enterprises we collaborate with are Magna Steyr (vehicles), Wiesner Hager (furniture), Xenon Lights, etc.
