B. AIMS, PHILOSOPHY AND COLLABORATION
SUMMARY OF MISSION STATEMENT
Since we participate in the ERASMUS-pro-gramme it was one of the goals of our university to build up a tight net of partners for cooperation all over Europe. Therefore the former CUMULUS-network, the present “CUMULUS- International Association of Universities and Colleges for Art, Design & Media” is an excellent platform for us to care for already existing partnerships or organizing new agreements. The meetings which take place twice a year are an important fact to get to know each other better and to force a closer cooperation. More than two thirds of our actual partners are coming from this community. Not only students-exchange but also other possibilities for cooperation-pro-jects (exhibitions, workshops,…) are often the result of these meetings. But in fact the students-exchange has still priority for us because we consider that it is important to send out as many students as possible to give them a chance for own experiences in foreign countries. This tendency we will keep also for the future within the new LLP. At present we are busy to check which university in Turkey could be a suitable partner for us so that finally also this country can be covered within our net of cooperation.

But of course we have to accept that due to our limited resources we cannot expand our relations without any limit, with our present 53 partners (in the beginning of our partici-pation in the ERASMUS-programme we had 8!) we have already reached the maximum of our extra-capacity for exchange-students in some subjects (if we sign agreements there should be at least a real chance that the nominated students can be accepted from our university).
Our Senatus (highest board of our university) is of the opinion that also in the field of cooperation we have to follow our principle “Quality before quantity!”
