| A. ORGANIZATIONAL INFORMATION | ||||||||

AVAILABLE BACHELOR LEVEL OR EQUIVALENT PROGRAMS AND THE ESTIMATED DURATION OF STUDYING The programme is organised in such a way that each of the 10 departments offers the full bachelor programme. In the third year of study, however, the individual departments adopt different perspectives and priorities in relation to the subject’s key areas. Only one BA-title exists: BA in architecture. The estimated duration of studying is three years. |

The tutoring takes place within ten departments, each responsible for the education of architects at all levels. MAIN FOCUS IN EDUCATION The School of Architecture is dominated by project work at the drawing board. The departments offer opportunities for specialisation within three main areas: planning, building design and design. However the specialization is not formalized as part of the organizational structure |

RESEARCH ACTIVITY AND MAIN RESEARCH AREAS Research activities are supervised by scientific personnel and supplemented by 17 currently enrolled PhD students. Research covers a broad spectrum of areas from theory of architecture, planning, design and communication to restoration and building science. Furthermore, it embodies development work as well as architectural experimentation. |

SUMMARY OF MISSION STATEMENT Through educational programmes and architectural research, the School of Architecture intends to create the basis for high quality buildings and built environments. |

THE ROLE OF THE MEMBER UNIT IN INTERNATIONAL SECTOR AND ITS COLLABORATION WITH PARTNER UNIVERSITIES AND OTHER INSTITUTIONS The school gives a high priority to international collaboration with foreign architecture and design schools. The school collaborates with a range of architecture and design schools. The collaborations take place within the European education programmes ERASMUS/SOCRATES and NORDPLUS. Furthermore bilateral agreements have been established with a number of non-european schools. |
