A. ORGANIZATIONAL INFORMATION

Industrial, Interactive, Graphic and Spacial design departments.
AVAILABLE BACHELOR LEVEL OR EQUIVALENT PROGRAMS AND THE ESTIMATED DURATION OF STUDYING
Two different orientations:
1. Five year study program (leading to a Masters level qualification). Students either specialize in Interaction design, Spacial Design or Product Design. Grafic design will be offered from September 2009 onwards.

2. Two year vocational training programs (BTS) in Product Design, Communication design (space and volumes), Spacial Design and Wood constructions for housing.

SUMMARY OF MISSION STATEMENT
The Ecole de Design Nantes Atlantique has as a vocation three main tasks: To promote design as a means to generate added value at the service of companies. To train graduates in the creative field. To affirm that economic development does represent a progress for humankind.
THE ROLE OF THE MEMBER UNIT IN INTERNATIONAL SECTOR AND ITS COLLABORATION WITH PARTNER UNIVERSITIES AND OTHER INSTITUTIONS
Very active exchange activities. All fourth year students go abroad during the first semester of their 4th year (school or company). We welcome an average of 50 exchange students per academic year. Participation in international events: exhibitions, conferences. Collaborative research projects planned from 2008 onwards. Annual organization of the CREDO international workshop. The setting up of a satellite school in the Shandong province, China.
THE ROLE OF THE MEMBER UNIT IN NATIONAL AND REGIONAL SECTORS AND IN HOME CITY AND ITS COLLABORATION WITH PARTNER UNIVERSITIES, ASSOCIATIONS, INDUSTRIAL AND BUSINESS CONNECTIONS AND OTHER INSTITUTIONS.
Part of the regional higher education and research structure. Member of Cumulus France. Member of the conference of “grandes écoles”. Extensive project collaboration with local businesses. Participation in various research networks and societies.
INFORMATION ON STUDENT EXCHANGES
SUBJECT AREAS FOR EXCHANGE STUDENTS
Since 2001, the Ecole de Design Nantes Atlantique has been running a program aimed at students of different nationalities, having studied a minimum of two years in industrial design or hypermedia.
This program allows foreign students to complete, for their respective schools, an equivalent of 3rd year level studies over one or two semesters.
DEADLINES TO APPLY FOR AN EXCHANGE PERIOD
Mid May for 1st semester.
Mid November for 2nd semester.
TEACHING LANGUAGES
French and English. It is recommended that exchange students master the basics of the French language. Any students integrating the school other than for exchange need to be fluent in French.
