SUMMARY OF MISSION STATEMENT
ENSAAMA Olivier de Serres’s mission is very much focused on making sure that our graduates are fully equipped for the labour market in the fields of both design and arts and crafts. This implies concentrating on the development of autonomy, individual creativity, technical, analytical and team working skills and working hand in hand with professionals and the industrial world. We also insist that our graduates have a good general knowledge and a good command of English so that they might plan to have careers either in France or abroad.

We use the origins of our school –the reunion of l’Ecole des Métiers d’Art (Arts and Crafts School) and l’Ecole des Arts Appliqués à l’Industrie (School of Applied Arts for Industry)- as a means to develop interdisciplinarity and encourage our students to learn from what is done in studios other than theirs. This further equips them for their professional lives by developing their adaptability and curiosity.
THE ROLE OF THE MEMBER UNIT IN INTERNATIONAL SECTOR AND ITS COLLABORATION WITH PARTNER UNIVERSITIES AND OTHER INSTITUTIONS
International Relations have developed very rapidly over the last four years.

Students are offered the possibility to study abroad for either a semester or a whole year and/or to do a work placement abroad after graduation. We now encourage second and fourth year students to do their compulsory work placement abroad.

Studio teams are now very much aware that the presence of foreign students in their courses is a real bonus so that we tend to host more and more of them.

Our plans for the future now exchanges and placements abroad work well is to develop joint courses and workshops in the different studios so that partnership will actually mean cooperation.
THE ROLE OF THE MEMBER UNIT IN NATIONAL AND REGIONAL SECTORS AND IN HOME CITY AND ITS COLLABORATION WITH PARTNER UNIVERSITIES, ASSOCIATIONS, INDUSTRIAL AND BUSINESS CONNECTIONS AND OTHER INSTITUTIONS.
ENSAAMA-Olivier de Serres co-operates with the three Paris Institute of Art and Design schools. We also work with the other Cumulus France schools.

The school has long-standing relationships with the art and design industries and some of our teachers also work as artists and designers. So that students work in a semi-professional environment and are given the benefits of many projects with outside clients, external projects and placements. They also mix with professionals at fairs and take part in many professional competitions.
