MAIN FOCUS IN EDUCATION To bring Master candidates to a very high professional European level within the subject areas: architecture, urbanism, landscape architecture and design. AHO endeavours to keep up a reputation as a school of excellence. Education at AHO shall give students a broad base of knowledge to ensure their development as professionals and as citizens. It shall also enable them to develop an individual professional profile. A diploma from AHO shall be recognized both nationally and internationally as a documentation of high professional competence. Master’s candidates from AHO shall be attractive within their professions. |

THE ROLE OF THE MEMBER UNIT IN INTERNATIONAL SECTOR AND ITS COLLABORATION WITH PARTNER UNIVERSITIES AND OTHER INSTITUTIONS Collaboration on education: - EEAE and Nordic Architecture Academy (architecture), Cumulus and Cirrus (industrial design). Prof. P.O. Fjeld is the president of EEAE, Prof. K.O.Ellefsen presides NA. - Karch, Copenhagen, on Master in urbanism - University of Nanjing, China, on architectural heritage and architecture - NUFU-financed project SEARCH on Master in development studies with universities in South- and East Africa ( Cape Town, Durban, Addis Abeba, Dar es Salaam, Nairobi University and Jomo Kenyatta University) Field trips with contacts on project level to institutions in New York, the Netherlands (Berlage Institute), London ( Bartlett School of Architecture, Metropolitan University) and Tokyo. Collaboration on the development of joint degrees for a Nordic Master in Architectural Heritage and an International master in architecture. Collaboration with CAUP Tongji University Shanghai on Young teacher’s exchange program. Student mobility: AHO attracts international students with applicant numbers exceeding AHO’s capacity. AHO aims at sending out 25% of its own students for one or more semesters. Within the Nordic countries student mobility is supported by the Nordplus and Cirrus exchange programs. AHO has bilateral agreements with a number of European institutions within the Erasmus program and with universities in Australia, Chile, Singapore and Uganda. |

THE ROLE OF THE MEMBER UNIT IN NATIONAL AND REGIONAL SECTORS AND IN HOME CITY AND ITS COLLABORATION WITH PARTNER UNIVERSITIES, ASSOCIATIONS, INDUSTRIAL AND BUSINESS CONNECTIONS AND OTHER INSTITUTIONS. Collaboration with other institutions are to be based on networks, both on a national and on an international level. AHO shall develop knowledge which can be applied to professional practice. Parts of AHO’s activity shall be innovative and aim at commercialization. AHO strives to be a national center of knowledge within the disciplines of architecture, industrial design, urbanism and landscape architecture, and to be recognized as such both by the professions and by the general public. AHO and its collaboration partners strive to achieve good results within innovation and in the development of the disciplines. |
