international role

The School is very active in the European League of Institutes of the Arts, ATYpi Association Typographique International,, ISTD – International Society of Typographic Designers and has active research partnerships with UIAH /TAIK, Loughborough, Kingston University, Art Academy of Latvia and Middlesex University.More Rd ently the School has developed a number of Horizon 2020 networks with Weisensee Art Academy, Berlin, Glasgow School of Art, Valand School of Art, Gothenburg, Oslo National Academy of Art.

 

 

national role

The School is the 2nd largest higher level art and design institute in Ireland. It offers BA, MA/M.Phil and P.Hd degrees in art and design. It is a lead partner in the Graduate School of Creative Arts and Media which funds and promotes practice based P.Hd research in art, design and media. The Head of School is a past president of ELIA 2010-2014 and the Head of Design is a past president of the Institute of Designers in Ireland 2011. The School hosts the research and dissemination network Typography Ireland.
