international role

Adopting a global outlook, the School of Design engages in a wide range of academic exchanges with overseas institutions and corporate memberships. Staff and students are inolved in collaboration with universities both in Asia, Europe and US in areas of student exchange, attachments, workshops, seminars and industry projects.

national role

The School of Design engages in a wide range of academic exchanges with other institutions. Staff and students attend overseas study trips, engage in joint projects and participate in programmes with other design institutions. As part of the practice of curriculum review, the school conducts industry focus group meetings with academics and practitioners to engage in a collaborative process of assessing the competitive standing of the diploma in order to enable the course to further enhance its capabilities and programme delivery.

main focus

The School of Design prepares students to be professionals in the design industry. The three-year programme gives  all students a fundamental appreciation and understanding of design before they proceed to specialise in their respective disciplines. There is a strong emphasis on collaborative  design  and for design to go beyond mere aesthetics to address key contemporary issues of the day. The School works closely with industry and students have many opportunities for internship and mentorship with industry leaders in Singapore and regionally. The School of Design is an award-winning institution and is Singapore's most comprehensive design school. It is also the most established design education institution among Singapore's insitutes of higher learning.
