What’s Next : Impact of Design 23rd February 2017 | Hyatt Regency, New Delhi, India
The last date of submission on 20th January 2017!!!
Pearl Academy, the premium design education institute in India and a member of Laureate International Universities is hosting a world café style international confluence “What’s Next: Impact of Design” to be held on 23 February 2017 in New Delhi, India.
Design is transforming the business, re-shaping management thinking, and fostering social innovation by questioning the ‘Why’ of a problem. Would Design have the capability to lead the change as it can conflate across all disciplines? Can design positively impact the world of tomorrow and its problems?” Would the role of the designer be that of a connectivist, who establishes and fosters links between different disciplines? The confluence will address these questions under following themes:
• Impact on society
• Impact on industry
• Designing education
• Design for nation building
As a part of this confluence, we have also rolled out the ‘CALL FOR IDEAS’ for design professionals, academicians and students. These competitions are:
– for students: ideas on “Impact of Design on Society and Culture”
– for Professionals/ academicians: design pitch on “Design for Nation Building”
Competition briefs are available online. Best ideas will receive an award and get a chance to be presented on the day of the event.
The Ideas may be submitted at http://whatsnext.pearlacademy.com/call-for-ideas/
Posters (Students / Professionals) attached.
Selected Ideas from Students and Professionals will be awarded Scholarships which covers their cost of participation, travel and stay for the event.

The event aims at stimulating and inspiring participants to foster innovation and creativity, discuss, debate and articulate the impact design will have on Industry, society, education and nation building. This will be a world café style confluence where there will be active dialogue among Industry stalwarts, government bodies, global design educators, leading members of the design fraternity, thought leaders and budding professionals. The event will then kick off a series of smaller, focused work sessions throughout 2017 where the ideas generated during the forum will be further developed, detailed, and ultimately published as proposed initiatives to make a better and more design-conscious India.
