Cumulus 30th Birthday: A Milestone to celebrate together throughout 2020
Anniversaries are of course a time to look back at key accomplishments, honoring those individuals who were part of making them possible, and cherishing the memory of good times. Anniversaries are also about looking ahead and from the present, reflecting about our aspirations for the future.
Anniversaries incite forward movement. As your President, along with my colleagues in our Executive Board and the Secretariat’s team we are looking forward to marking this important Cumulus Birthday, one that brings our association into young “adulthood” and with it, into a growing international scale and a new phase of maturity as well.
We invite all of you as our members and partners to join us during our conferences (CumulusRoma at Sapienza University next June and Cumulus conference St. Petersburg in October) but also to look for key events and activities that we will be planning throughout the year.
Together, let’s imagine with renewed creativity and confidence the next 30 years of Cumulus and the hopeful futures our community of students will be shaping ahead!
Mariana Amatullo, PhD
We are proud to unveil the specially commissioned logo mark for our Anniversary. Thank you to Karen Davison, the California-based designer we have been delighted to partner with to capture our 30 years of creative linking.
“In designing Cumulus’ 30th anniversary logo, my goal was to arrive at a solution that felt natural and organic. By allowing the Cumulus “C” to take the place of a zero, I was able to retain the balance and movement of the original mark. The end result is true to Cumulus’ ethos: a creative linking of different elements into a satisfying whole.” –Karen Davison
