PhD positions open at UiB Norway
Cumulus member, the University of Bergen is offering vacancies for a Research Fellow in Artistic Research – The new networks at the Department of Design/ The Art Academy and Research Fellow in Artistic Research – Virtual reality at the Department of Design.
Research Fellow in Artistic Research – The new networks
Media channels and social networks have provided new opportunities for influencing social and political opinion. In a crisis, such as the one we experience with the Covid 19 pandemic, the degree of argumentation and deep understanding of the causes, dynamics and societal values is often extremely reduced, and in this context media platforms can represent a threat to critical interpretation and tolerance in public understanding.
We hereby call for candidates who can research and investigate new public online scenarios. We are looking for proposals that explore the new technological possibilities and social movements related to these in a critical and artistic context.
Research Fellow in Artistic Research – Virtual reality
We are looking for projects centred around questions related to narrativity and which include aesthetic and ethical perspectives. The overall goal should be to investigate on how visual language can gain new meaning in VR-experiences.
The proposed project must be an investigation of communication and narrativity in relation to/and using virtual reality (VR). The person, who receives the position will be engaged in the development of one of the department’s focus areas; human centred technology in a critical perspective.
