Survey on the role of AI in Design institutions
Dearest Cumulus community,
please support our Cumulus member Politecnico di Milano with filling in a 5-10 minute-survey.
The survey will contribute to Martina Sciannamè’s PhD research on “if and how AI is playing a role in Design institutions”.
As Artificial Intelligence (AI) is spreading into our everyday life and drawing the attention of different fields to join the discussion, Martina Sciannamè’s doctoral research aims at understanding how Machine Learning (ML – currently the prominent subset of AI) can be translated for Design education, to become a useful tool in a designer’s toolkit. In particular, the interest lies in identifying which kind of ML-related knowledge needs to be integrated in Design curricula and which can be the best way to do so.
But, preliminary to that, the enquiry is oriented at examining the current practices of teaching AI-related contents in Design programmes. And here is where Cumulus member institutions may contribute by helping to map if and how AI is playing a role in Design institutions around the world.
Therefore, we would be immensely grateful if you could dedicate a little of your time (5-10 minutes) to fill in this questionnaire on behalf of your institution. Find the survey here.
Thank you so much in advance for your precious contribution!

(Please, note that in the survey, Martina Sciannamè approaches AI in its broadest sense, as scientific discipline overarching different techniques and approaches)
