Sustaining Craft in India – Online Seminar

Take part in this NIFT & IFFTI online seminar, Sustaining Craft in India on the 16th of March at 3:00PM to 4:30PM (India).

The tradition of craft in India dates over a few millennia, unfolding across the length and breadth of the country. The rich generational knowledge and skill of handcrafted products remain the second largest source of livelihood to millions of craftspeople who are mostly based in rural India. Craft practices bring together a sense of belongingness with deep connotations to social and cultural beliefs of artisan communities. This seminar sheds light on the craft sector in India and highlights key strategies relevant for craft sustainability. References have been drawn from a craft-based project undertaken by the National Institute of Fashion Technology, New Delhi, India.

The seminar is hosted by National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) and International Foundation of Fashion Technology Institutes (IFFTI).

The seminar will be held in Zoom. Please register at Meeting Registration – Zoom.
