What´s next? Major transformations in Art and Design Education
Join the Global Conversation of Cumulus Connects on March 26th at 1300 UTC! No registration required, join us live on https://aalto.zoom.us/j/64880677366. The event is scheduled to last around 90 minutes.
As the world is changing and facing new challenges, Art and Design Education is responding (or acting) with very diverse “transformations” in their programs, formats, and boundaries of Art and Design. Where do we see radical and major changes and which opportunities emerge for the strategy of Art and Design education institutions (in all its diversity)?
After redesigning our Cumulus Working Group and extending our core team (see below) we are happy to have two distinguished and experienced leaders coming from two very different contexts to open up an interesting discourse on the ongoing challenges and opportunities the transformations will bring.
Venka Purushothaman will talk about Assembling Attitudes: Horizontal Leadership and the Future of Higher Education in Arts and Design. His talk will prospect on the type of leadership required for facilitating innovative projects and pedagogies in a post-covid world. It shares some new developments in Singapore and Lasalle College of the Arts, and forecasts on emerging trends in higher education for arts and design.
Luisa Collina will talk about the question how we fruitfully apply what we have learnt during the pandemic regarding design education: How do we create international hubs, studios, and communities abroad, how do we build prototypes abroad?
We will have enough time to discuss questions and contributions of our audience.
